Kaylene Graffitti, LCSW

Clinical Supervisor + Trauma Therapist

Kaylene Graffitti is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a clinical therapist at Sustainable Wellness. She has received specialized training in trauma-informed care and currently provides individual therapy and group sessions for adults at Sustainable Wellness.

Kaylene graduated with her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Adelphi University in 2018. She completed her first MSW internship at an outpatient domestic violence agency where she discovered her passion for helping clients who have experienced traumatic events. After graduation, Kaylene continued to work in an outpatient clinic and a domestic violence shelter. During this time, she worked with clients of all ages who have experienced intimate partner violence, family violence, sexual assault, abuse as a child, and other complex traumas.

At Sustainable Wellness, Kaylene’s primary passion is for helping individuals heal from their traumatic experiences. Her clinical focus is working with clients healing from sexual abuse or assault, dissociation and Dissociative Disorders/DID, attachment and developmental trauma caused by abuse or neglect as a child, and cPTSD caused by other complex traumas throughout the lifespan. Many of her clients in particular struggle with dissociation, memory and concentration problems, flashbacks, avoidance, trouble with emotional regulation, relationship difficulties, and more. Together she works with clients to better understand these reactions and heal from the traumas that cause them.

When working with clients, Kaylene integrates a variety of approaches into her treatment. She prefers to take a strengths-based, client-centered approach, while also blending Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, trauma-focused CBT & DBT techniques, systems theory, and psychoeducation. Regardless of the individual approach, however, she always uses a trauma-focused lens. This means she is not only looking at a client as a set of individual symptoms. Instead, she is looking at the "big picture", working to treat and heal the root cause of the symptoms.

If you're struggling with a complex trauma history, Kaylene will work alongside you to help you safely process these experiences and manage the overwhelming emotions that typically accompany them. She would love to partner with you in navigating these complex and confusing experiences by offering a safe and compassionate space for education and healing.

In her free time outside of being a therapist, Kaylene enjoys traveling, reading, hammocking, cooking, baking, watching her favorite TV shows, and spending time with her three dogs, Mila, Jake and Ari.
