Alexis Fox, LMSW
(she/her/hers)
Clinical Therapist
Alexis Fox is a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) who earned her Master’s degree from SUNY Brockport. She brings a deep commitment to social justice and a trauma-informed perspective to her work with clients. Alexis believes our mental health is shaped not only by what happens within us, but also by our relationships, communities, and the systems we move through.
Her work draws from evidence-informed practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness practices, creative arts, and somatic techniques. She approaches these practices flexibly, adapting them to each client’s experiences, values, culture, and goals.
With more than 20 years of experience in dance and movement, including 10 years as a dance studio owner and director, Alexis has a deep appreciation for the connection between the mind and body. She brings this perspective into therapy through an interest in somatic awareness, creativity, and the ways our bodies can communicate experiences that are sometimes difficult to put into words.
Alexis believes therapy is a place to slow down, be curious, and make sense of the things that have shaped you. She hopes to create a space where you can come as you are, without judgment or expectations. Her goal is not to tell you how to heal, but to walk alongside you as you make sense of your experiences and find your own way forward.
