About
About 2-Hour Consultation Groups
EMDR Consultation Groups allow clinicians to come together to deepen their understanding and practice of EMDR. They offer space for collaborative growth, peer support, and clinical feedback in a structured, supportive environment. 2-hour groups are ideal for those seeking extensive or advanced case discussion than a 1-hour group. This may include, but is not limited to, exploring nuanced clinical challenges and taking a deep dive into the 8-phase protocol.
EMDRIA Requirements
Group consultation must include one Consulant and at least two (2) consultees in a structured, formalized setting. All consultees in the group are expected to participate and be prepared to bring their own EMDR case presentation material content for discussion. As a general guideline, groups should allow a ratio of 15 minutes per individual participant. When group time is not equally divided among consultees, each participant is expected to present case material, so that all consultees in the group both demonstrate and observe their peer’s demonstration of standard EMDR therapy.
For those seeking EMDR Certification: Consultees must be able to demonstrate an awareness of situations in which modifications to standard EMDR therapy are necessary in order to safely and effectively treat the client.
These groups are limited to 6 participants.
