About this Group
About.
Trauma is healed through safety, connection, and knowledge. This comprehensive trauma support program will allow individuals to learn, grow, and heal alongside others navigating healing from trauma. The program entails a thorough screening process which includes assessment and psychoeducation on trauma prior to joining the support group. An individual therapist is required to join. Below is an outline of the trauma support group program:
Step 1: Free Consultation
Request an optional, free, 15-minute consultation call with one of our clinical team members to discuss details about the trauma support group program and what it has to offer, along with any questions you might have.
Step 2: Group Screening
After initial outreach, a member of our clinical team will conduct a comprehensive assessment to evaluate your readiness for the trauma support group program, ensuring you meet the criteria for joining the group and that you have the necessary support. The group screening takes 45-minutes to complete. If you do not yet have an individual therapist, we can work with you to get you connected with a member of our clinical team for individual support while completing the program.
Step 3: Psychoeducation
Upon passing the group screening, all participants are required to attend our comprehensive psychoeducational component of the program prior to joining the trauma support group. This includes two 45-minute sessions with a member of our clinical team.
Step 4: Trauma Support Group
Once completing the psychoeducation component of the program, members are invited to join the trauma support group. A minimum participation of 10 weeks is required. Supportive listening, reflecting, active sharing, and discussion is encouraged by all participants as appropriate. Skills from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and somatic approaches will be incorporated as appropriate. Participants can expect to:
Learn how trauma affects the mind and body
Gain skills to promote a regulated nervous system
Find emotional support in a safe space
Join a community to feel less alone
Receive individual check-insÂ
Step 5: Individual Support
Individual support is required throughout the duration of attending the trauma support group. For those already set up with an individual therapist, one 30-minute check-in will be required at no additional cost. For those being set up with an individual therapist, 60-minute sessions are required at a minimum of every 2 weeks.
