About Us
We offer a holistic approach to mental health counseling for issues ranging from life transitions to complex traumas.
Sustainable Wellness is a trauma-informed therapy and wellness practice focused on providing a holistic approach to healing. We offer specialized mental health services for PTSD and other trauma disorders, along with trauma-informed care for communities exposed to high levels of chronic stress and shame. We’re passionate about and committed to helping our clients achieve optimal wellness in a safe, inclusive, and compassionate environment. Our team believes that the body has the ability to heal and that growth occurs while exploring the root causes of issues – not just treating symptoms.
What is a trauma-focused approach?
A trauma-informed treatment approach strives to understand individuals as a whole. It assumes that people are more likely to have a history of trauma than not. When trauma occurs, it affects a person’s sense of self, their sense of others, and their beliefs about the world. Trauma-informed care shifts the focus from “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?” It offers the opportunity for our clients to engage more fully in their healing processes, develop a trusting relationship with their providers, and improve long-term health outcomes. Our team adopts this approach by obtaining a complete picture of our clients’ life situations – past and present – in order to provide effective care with a healing orientation. Our goal is always sustainable wellness.
