About.
Do you work in the school setting? Are you feeling burned out? Depleted? Maybe even alone in your efforts to continue showing up? This virtual support group is designed just for you! This support group is for teachers and other school-based providers and professionals alike. It's a space for sharing stories along with seeking validation and support in a field that is trying to balance and navigate various ethical dilemmas, community demands, and challenging work dynamics, all while often having limited resources. This group works to acknowledge the immense pressures school educators and professionals face and aims to reduce isolation and burnout, all while empowering individuals and the communities in which they are a part of by restoring hope and inspiration within their fields of work.
What participants can expect:
Member-driven group discussions facilitated by professionals with lived-experience
A supportive environment that offers validation, solidarity, connection, and a sense of community
Exposure to various mindfulness and somatic-based skills and practices (taken from somatic experiencing, DBT, & IFS)
Meeting Time.
This group meets biweekly on Fridays, from 4:30-5:30pm.
Location.
This group runs virtually through a secure video platform.
Rates.
The cost of this group is $240 for 6 biweekly sessions. Payments are made in biweekly installments of $40/session. Payment is due regardless of group attendance.
Participants.
This group is for adult teachers and school professionals (18+ years.)
Your Instructors
Phoebe Allen, LCSW & Kyle Skovira, MS
This group is co-facilitated by Phoebe Allen, LCSW (she/her/hers) and Kyle Skovira, MS (they/them/theirs) on a biweekly basis. Phoebe is a trauma therapist and former school-based social worker, while Kyle brings in a restorative justice (RJ) lens as an RJ practitioner with their own wisdom from the field as an educator and Clinical Social Work Intern.
